Life & Health Investigations

Contestable Death Investigations:

Most investigations will begin with an extensive interview with the next of kin, beneficiary or both. Keeping in mind this very sensitive issue, we will conduct the interview with the highest level of integrity and professionalism. A detailed inquiry regarding the descendants passed medical history will be conducted, keeping in mind any specifics of the policy such as a non-smolding policy. Signed statements will be taken from the next of kin and/or beneficiary and all necessary authorizations will be obtained. We will then contact all medical facilities and physicians known to have been associated with the decedent, and will thoroughly review all medical files. Copies of the medical records will be obtained, and we will carefully search for any other possible medical records/treatment facilities/insurance etc., and will review and obtain those records. If needed, contact will be made with the appropriate jurisdiction to obtain a death certificate and coroners report.

Accidental Death Investigations:

An accidental death investigation will usually begin similar to that of a contestable death investigation. A thorough interview is conducted with the next of kin and/or beneficiary to obtain details of the person's medical history, and exact details of the accidental death in question. Copies of all necessary authorizations will be obtained, in-depth interviews will be conducted with the proper authorities which had jurisdiction over the incident. We will obtain exact details of the death and will obtain copies of all available reports. Copies of the death certificate and coroners report will be obtained, if needed.
